Masquerade Ball

After hearing us play at the 2013 Homeschool Alumni English Country Dance, Laura Hatch, the caller for Set To Music English Country Dancing asked us if we would play for some of her balls! We often attend as dancers, but it was very enjoyable to be able to provide live music for one of the dance sets. 1421267_10152082846534516_1880450102_o (751x800)Dressed and ready to play! Krista learned how to do face painting especially for this ball.  We loved the way they turned out!

Noah’s Vocal Debut

Early this spring Noah finally decided that his developing voice had settled enough sing a solo.  Guess what subject he chose?  You got it!  A battle!

I love the narrative style of this song, but it is worth noting that like Hollywood today, they took some poetic license with the historical facts to make a more dramatic song! This video was taken this summer at the Bitterroot Scottish Irish Festival in Hamilton, MT.

Monday’s Musings | Those Moments of Life…

We were in the living room doing our vocal warm-ups.   Kathrina kept trying to talk about the various tasks that needed to be completed in the two second pauses in between exercise sets, but that wasn’t going very well. Inevitably, it would take longer than two seconds to tell something, and she kept spilling over into the next set, much to the chagrin of the rest of us.  Finally she laughed and said, “I read this status update on Facebook the other day.  It said, “You know that feeling when you have all your ducks lined up in a row? Me neither.””

Then we all had a good laugh and Noah poked his head into the living room.  He had apparently overhead our conversation from the dining room where he was working at the table.

“And then there’s the guys version of it,” he said. “You know that feeling? Me neither!”

Yep, my brother has a good sense of humor!
